Your first useful result
Separate deciding what changes from deciding how it changes. Begin with a clearly bounded region and one intended edit. Select, Recolor, Arrange, Compare and Projects keep that decision visible as you refine the image and review it against the source.

Start with a small, clear editing task
Create or reopen a project and import a source you may edit. Keep an independent original. Pick a first task such as recolouring one object or moving a small element. A simple boundary is easier to learn from than overlapping subjects. Inspect the source at a useful zoom before building a selection.
Build and refine the selection
Choose brush, erase, rectangle, lasso, flood or edge selection to fit the region. Combine broad selection with positive and negative refinement rather than attempting every pixel in one pass. Inspect thin details and holes. The mask decides which pixels change; correct a spill into the background before trying to compensate through a weaker adjustment.
Change colour in context
Use Recolor to inspect the selected region's colour, opacity, blending and hue, saturation or brightness choices. Make one change at a time. Texture, shadows and highlights help the object remain coherent; strong flat colour can obscure them. Compare the complete image as well as the selected area before settling on the result.
Transform the active object deliberately
In Arrange, review position, scale and rotation. Duplication and deletion are different actions, so check the active object before either one. Moving an object reveals the area it previously covered. Inspect both its new boundary and the exposed source area before adding another transformation. The new position should serve the composition rather than merely demonstrate movement.
Repair gaps and compare boundaries
Use available deterministic Telea or Navier–Stokes repair where suitable and refine manually when needed. A small background gap is a different challenge from inventing a larger detailed scene. Inspect texture, lines, halos and edges in Compare, then return to normal viewing size. Undo or use a useful history state when the result is unsuitable.
Preserve decisions and inspect the download
Confirm saving and export the reviewed image with the available settings. Reopen the delivery file separately. The project preserves source, selections, objects, adjustments and history for another version. Browser-local AI marked Coming soon is not required for deterministic selection, recolouring, transforms or repair. If a task fails, retain the source and last useful history state before simplifying the region.
Common questions
Why did recolouring affect the background?
Inspect the mask and correct the selected boundary before changing the colour again.
Can I work while local AI is unavailable?
Yes. Use the deterministic tools. Unqualified heavyweight local AI remains visibly disabled rather than sending your images to a remote service.
