Before you start
The source assets for your project and a clear delivery goal.
1. Record the source
Download from an authorised source. Note licensing or permission requirements and check that the asset type matches your project.
2. Choose a destination
Use a project folder and keep incomplete downloads separate from finished files. Avoid saving everything into a single unsorted downloads directory.
3. Verify completion
Check the file opens and matches its expected type. Where a publisher supplies a checksum, compare it before relying on the asset.
4. Move into the project
Rename completed assets consistently and retain the source or licence note. Keep a separate copy of important original files.
Check the result
Before sharing, reopen the finished files and check them on the type of device your audience will use. Keep original material separate from delivery copies.
What to know
The Flux homepage queue is illustrative. Open Flux for your own transfer status, supported source options and recovery controls. Permissions, expiring source links and remote-service availability can affect whether a transfer completes or resumes.
