Add text to a PDF

Use the Text controls in the FOLD editor and verify the downloaded result.

Before you start

A PDF you have permission to edit and a saved original copy.

1. Open and inspect

Open the PDF editor and choose your document. Navigate to the correct page and zoom in until the target area is clear.

2. Use Text

Click the page where the new text belongs, type the content and adjust its font, size and colour. The nearby-text matching option offers a starting style; inspect it rather than assuming an exact match.

3. Download a new copy

Review the edited page, open the download dialog and save a separate file. Inspect the downloaded file rather than relying only on the preview.

Check the result

Check the line position, currency symbols and accents in the downloaded file.

What to know

Text is added as an overlay; FOLD does not reflow or rewrite the original paragraph.
