Tool guide

Select an object with the Repaint brush

Use Brush in the documented Repaint editor to control a photo cleanup.

Before you start

A source photograph and a clear idea of what you want to remove.

1. Prepare the photograph

Open the Repaint application and load the image. Keep the original and identify any details that must remain unchanged.

2. Use Brush

Paint over the distraction, including its edges and the part of its shadow you want removed. Start with a narrow brush around details and use a larger brush inside the selected region.

3. Process and inspect

Apply the cleanup where relevant, inspect it at full-image and close-up views, then export a new copy.

Check the result

Review the mask before processing. A mask that extends far into useful scenery asks the tool to reconstruct more than necessary.

What to know

Open your project in Repaint to apply these steps to your own image. Refine the selection, compare the changed region with the source and review the export. The homepage comparison uses a prepared sample.
